PROJECTS AND PARTNERS

The Siphesihle Social Enterprise was established in 2020. We are very proud of the successful projects and partnerships we have achieved this year. We placed a very heavy focus on educational resources, keeping in line with the ultimate aim of the enterprise which is to eradicate poverty for underprivileged children through long-term interventions, increasing their employability and connecting them to beneficial resources.

The enterprise launched with projects based in Limpopo.

Please get in touch with us through our 'Contact us' page for partnership and donation opportunities. Below is a list of all our 2020 projects.

LAPTOPS

The Siphesihle Social Enterprise would like to thank Monocle for a donation of 11 laptops. Together with Ga-Mphahlele Homecoming, these laptops will be given to 11 deserving students in the Limpopo province.

Donors like you are vital to the continued success of our mission to eradicate poverty through educational programmes for rural and disadvantaged schools and we are grateful for your support.

STUDY GUIDES

virtual study guides

In partnership with JuniorTukkie we were able to provide all the students with study guides for their Matric studies

JuniorTukkie has also agreed to waive application fees and provide scholarships to any students who are accepted into the University

 VIRTUAL TUTORS

including sponsoring of airtime and data

Our student beneficiaries at Phauwe High School in GaMphahlele (Limpopo) experienced great interruptions in their studies due to COVID19. They were unable to continue contact lessons during the pandemic and the lack of technological resources in the village meant that students without access to smartphones and data were excluded from teaching resources. We put a call out to everyone who was keen to serve as virtual tutors and an amazing team of volunteers formed a team with us. Through partnership with our volunteer tutors, the principal at Phauwe high school and a great NPO in the area (GaMphahlele Homecoming) we managed to get resources to students (including data and airtime) for remote learning.

 COVID19 RESPONSE

We reached out to our network to get COVID19 essential resources to our beneficiaries. We managed to get care packages donated to us by our great partners FR Pandelani Incorporated Attorneys and Medical Health Solutions. We managed to get pads, sanitisers, masks, visors and gloves.

GAMPHAHLELE ART CLUB

A week-long art partnership began between the Siphesihle Social Enterprise, Beyond They Eyes Network and the beneficiaries at Phauwe high school. The aim of the art club is to ensure that the students at the high school are exposed to multiple ways to use their talents and tell their own stories. A total of 40 students attended the after school art sessions which ranged from "Use of the camera 101" to students taking their own photos. The project culminated in the official launch of the GaMphahlele Art Club.

The principal sent the following message on the last day of the project "Good evening. Thank you so much for all your efforts Mpho.We had a very good day.in fact a good short week and a nice experience to our learners. Their exposure to the use of cameras and all those lessons presented by the great team.We had fun with them and our learners enjoyed everything . The cameras for their Art club are also appreciated and will be helpful to our school too. They will learn a lot about photography"

Thank you so much to Tebogo Mogale and Sammy Rabolele for reaching out and partnering with Siphesihle_SE.

 FUNDRAISING FOR UNIVERSITY APPLICATION FEES

Over a week we initiated an online fundraising campaign to pay for university application fees for the beneficiaries who are all currently in Matric. We raised enough money to pay for application fees and purchase data for online orientation sessions. One of our beneficiaries attended the orientation session at UCT and had the privilege of sitting in a session where Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mamokgethi Phakeng welcomed them. This is an ongoing project as the next phase is to create University kick-start care packages. We are so excited to see this small project evolve into a sustainable Bursary opportunity for deserving students.

A huge thank you to our PR partners for creating our reel for the clothing line
